Say NO to the Lisbon Treaty!

On October 2, the people of Ireland will vote on the so-called “Treaty of Lisbon”, the proposed constitution-like platform for the future of Europe. This unique opportunity for the people of Ireland to exert their democratic right is the result of a century-long battle of the Irish people for freedom and independence.

Amazingly, however, the people of the other 26 nations of Europe were denied the basic democratic right to vote on the future of their continent.

Apparently, the architects of the “Brussels EU” were afraid that during any European-wide vote, the fundamentally undemocratic nature of the Lisbon Treaty, as the legal platform to cement corporate control over Europe, would be unmasked. What is at stake is the takeover of the economic, social and even private lives of the European people by corporate interests – namely, those of the chemical, pharmaceutical and petrochemical industry – or, the preservation of democracy, liberty and freedom.

What is at stake on October 2 is not just the future of the people of Ireland but the future of 500 million people living in Europe today and many millions more as yet unborn. In this historic situation, the disenfranchised people of Europe turn to the people of Ireland and call upon them to vote on their behalf.

Powiedz NIE dla Traktatu Lizbońskiego!

W dniu 2 października, mieszkańcy Irlandii będą głosować w sprawie tak zwanego “traktatu lizbońskiego”, proponowanej konstytucji jak platforma dla przyszłości Europy. To wyjątkowa okazja dla osób z Irlandii do wywierania demokratycznie prawa osiągniętego w wyniku długiej walki Irlandczyków o wolność i niepodległość. O dziwo, jednak ludziom z pozostałych 26 krajów Europy, odmówiono demokratycznego prawa głosu w sprawie przyszłości kontynentu. Wydaje się że , architekci “UE w Brukseli” obawiali się , że w każdym europejskim głosowaniu ten z gruntu niedemokratyczny charakter traktatu lizbońskiego, jako prawnej kontroli nad spółkami w całej Europie, będzie zdemaskowany. Stawką jest albo pełne przejęcie kontroli w sprawach gospodarczych, społecznych, a nawet życiem prywatnym obywateli Europy przez korporacyjne interesy – a mianowicie te, chemicznego, farmaceutycznego i przemysłu petrochemicznego – lub zachowania demokracji, wolności i swobody. Chodzi tu o to że 2 października rozstrzygną się losy nie tylko narodu irlandzkiego, ale przyszłości 500 milionów ludzi żyjących w Europie, i wiele milionów więcej jeszcze nienarodzonych. W tej historycznej sytuacji, inne narody Europy zwracają się do obywateli Irlandii wzywając ich – Irlandczyków do głosowania na NIE w ich imieniu.

We vote NO!
The Lisbon Treaty is an attempt to establish a European superstate without asking Europeans for their permission. The approval of the Treaty of Lisbon will mean the transfer of the remainder of the decision-making power of European capitals to Brussels, where far away from us all a bureaucratic machine will decide our fates. The approval of the Treaty of Lisbon will mean a change for the worse, which will affect all of us. The Treaty of Lisbon, previously known as the European Constitution, was already voted on in France and the Netherlands, where the public voted a resounding NO. Then, the content of this document was apparently altered, but by less than a percent while, first and foremost, its name was altered to shove it down the throats of European nations. Only the fully democratic society of Ireland was given the opportunity to vote on the Treaty. The Irish also gave it a clear NO, but the European elite disregarded the vote and opted to bomb the Irish with propaganda, and to force them to re-vote on this defective document, a clear violation of all accepted democratic procedures and principles. This document was already rejected three times in separate democratic votes and, despite this, it is being forced upon Ireland, using economic blackmail, various forms of coercion and propaganda.

The European Union spends over 2 billion Euros annually on Propaganda. One shouldn’t then be surprised at the massive pro-EU advertising campaigns, which remain unanswered and without rebuttal by society.

Free people and free nations cannot accede to such undemocratic coercion.

We, Polish bloggers who acutely follow European politics, have decided to join our fellow Irish bloggers to appeal to the Irish public to vote against the Treaty of Lisbon. A NO vote is not only a vote against the numerous pitfalls of the Treaty, but is also a vote against the methods used to bring it to life.

We thus appeal to the Irish to once again vote NO.
Vote NO in the referendum.
Vote NO for your own sake, vote NO for ours!
